The creative process is absorbing and rewarding. I think exposure to my son-in-law’s farm likely inspired my choice to paint portraits of our barnyard friends. Each subject seems to take on its own personality. It is fun to observe the reaction of viewers of my work.
Sculpture is an adventure because one can only remove and never add. The result is often not what I had in mind when I began. I enjoy bringing out the natural beauty hidden in the veins of the stone and creating a smooth organic shape to be enjoyed by sight and touch.
